4th of July weekend

Our weekend started on Thursday night. Anthem has their fireworks every year on 4th of July eve. They hold a little festival at the community park all day with rides for the kids, a beer garden, a band and, of course, ends the night with fireworks. So we packed up the clan, grabbed our blanket and headed to the festivities.

Then on Friday, Chris had some gift certificates that he has been meaning to use up. So we figured that was as good as any day to pack up for a trip to Scottsdale Fashion Square for the afternoon. We ended up getting brownie mix and a fruit muddler at Williams Sonoma. Chris' new drink of choice is a mojito and we were using a spoon to muddle the limes and mint, but that wasn't cutting it. So, we needed q muddler!
*Side note: Could Williams Sonoma be the most overrated kitchen store in the world? The prices are so outrageous for simple things that I could find at Target or Walmart for more than half the price.*
Then we went to Nordstroms. Chris gets gift certificates periodically from his work for his birthday, holidays, etc. It is only $25 so it is always a "chore" to try and find something for that amount at Nordstroms. We usually find ourselves walking aimlessly around the store in an unsuccessful attempt to spend the money. He typically ends up getting underwear or socks but even then sometimes has to pay a difference. But this time, Chris couldn't really find anything that he was interested in, so I got some makeup. Thanks honey!

Saturday we decided that we were going to take Kaiden to the community water park. He is really starting to love the water and will splash about. He loved it!

Finally, on Sunday, we decided to take Kaiden to his first Diamondbacks game! We made sure to get the cheapest seats (for fear that we wouldn't be there that long!) with no one else around so we had plenty of room to spread out. It was a great way to end the weekend!
